Alongside painting Gretchen Albrecht has an on-going involvement with graphic media such as lithography & etching, recently culminating in the 1999 exhibition Crossing the Divide: a painter makes prints, organised by the Sarjeant Gallery and documenting important aspects of the relationship between the graphic and the painted works.

Gretchen Albrecht has collaborated with a number of print workshops both in New Zealand and internationally. She produced a suite of 3 lithographs in 1982, with Robert Jones at the Beehive Press in Adelaide, following which in 1983, and later, in 1994 a series of unique paper pulp works was created with Lyn Forgach, at the Exeter Press, New York. Locally she continues a long-standing working relationship with Marian Maguire at her Limeworks and PaperGraphica studios and in October, 2000 worked with Bartolomeu dos Santos at Tavira, Portugal on an etching project.
